  1.                          TOGETHER SIDE BY SIDE
  2. From the first time I saw you
  3. I knew we would be good friends.
  4. I always hoped we'd end up together.
  5. But we we're just friends, right?
  6. But...alas, I can't stop thinking 
  7. that there is more to it than that.
  8. As friends, we've learned so much 
  9. about one another.
  10. From what our favorite foods, and preferences are
  11. to how we truly felt about one another.
  12. We've had our differences on things but all and all,
  13. we are almost like two individuals acting as one.
  14. Many times acting alike, even having the same
  15. thoughts and dreams... 
  16.                               ~~~ 
  17. Over the years we have been accustomed to being 
  18. there for one another no matter what the situation.
  19. Neither big, nor small the problem or task, we have
  20. been there side by side, helping each other out in
  21. order to reach the goal.
  22. Many times the help comes with out a thankful
  23. response, but deep down inside, we know that just
  24. saying "thanks" isn't enough to express the
  25. overwhelming debt or gratitude able to be expressed.
  26. Over the years we have grown closer,
  27. much closer in fact.
  28. There isn't really a day that goes by
  29. without you being there for me.
  30. With all the chaos and turmoil brewing within me
  31. You are there to spread your arms wide and calm
  32. the storm festering within me.
  33. Not even all the gold in the world can repay you
  34. for your tender loving smile and your 
  35. warm gentle hugs when I've needed them most.
  36. Even when no one else seemed to care, you picked
  37. me up out of the depths of despair and
  38. strengthened my inner spirit.
  39. Because of that I will forever be in your debt.

  41. I hope our special care for one another lasts
  42. as long as we both shall live.
  43. Friendship is the basis of all things 
  44. bright and beautiful, you know.
  45. We will be bound by each others continual care and
  46. guidance as we plunder our way through troubled
  47. times, as long as we are together side by side.
